The Freezer Door Gasket is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. This gasket forms a seal around the freezer door, preventing warm air from entering and cold air from escaping, which helps maintain the appliance's efficiency and temperature. Causes of a bad freezer door gasket can include wear and tear over time, exposure to extreme temperatures, or damage from cleaning chemicals. A compromised gasket can lead to frost buildup and increased energy consumption.

Fit was perfect and Install was tricky!
Jan 31, 2022

IMPORTANT!!! The gasket may not seal well (mine didn?t for about 25% of the door), so I tried to use a hair dryer to warm up the gasket where the seal was poor as internet comments suggested with a small improvement. As other internet comments suggested, I highly recommend putting the gasket in the dryer for 10 minutes before installation to soften up the gasket enough and allow the air-filled pocket in the gasket to expand and then seal properly! Since this gasket wraps around the plastic shell for the inner door shelves, I highly recommend emptying all the shelves on the door, removing the door, and laying the door flat to remove the screws (~24), remove the old gasket, install the new gasket and re-securing all the screws. Doing this while vertical can be very challenging. Also, save your back and lay the door on a work bench or some other elevated surface. I used two stacks of rectangular plastic storage containers which worked well.
