Bosch model numbers are found on the data plate or data label on the machine. This is usually located on the back or bottom of the unit.
If you need to find the manufacturing code (sometimes shortened to the "mfg. code"), it will be on the same label.
The Tool Model Number for Bosch tools is a 4- or 5-digit number commonly stamped into the nameplate or cast, or molded into the tool itself. Often, the Tool Model Number begins with a number 1 through 5. Tool Model Numbers for Skil are 4-digit numbers, which may include a suffix set of 2 digits following the dash - the suffix denotes a certain configuration. Skil heavy duty tools have 6-digit Model Numbers that include the prefix "HD," except for the WormDrive, which is the HD77 or HD77M. Like Bosch tools, Skil Model Numbers are commonly found on the cast or stamped into the tool itself.
The Tool Product Number is a 10-digit number usually found on the nameplate, a metal plate or foil sticker. The nameplate may be located in several areas (depending on the tool type). On cordless tools, the nameplate is often hidden inside the battery attachment area. Otherwise, it is usually located on the tool where ther is little direct contact during tool use. Note: On some tools, the word 'Model' appears in front of this 10-digit Product Number. Bosch tools have 10-digit numbers beginning with 0601 or 0611, whereas Skil Product Numbers begin with the letter F.
